FinanceAsia names Vietcombank “best bank in Vietnam”

The Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) has been named as the best bank in Vietnam for 2013 by Finance Asia magazine, one of the most prestigious magazines in Asia.

During this year’s Country Awards ceremony which was held inSingapore on September 12, Vietcombank was also honoured with the bestforeign exchange bank in Vietnam. 

Vietcombank, the firstand only Vietnamese bank, earned a place in the Top 1000 World Banks2013 list announced by the Banker magazine in July this year. It wasranked 445 th among the top 1000 world banks, a rise of 91 placescompared with 2012’s ratings.

Founded in 1963, the bank hasgrown into one of Vietnam ’s largest commercial lending institutionswith 400 branches and representative offices within and outsideVietnam . It has advisory relations with 1,700 banks from 120 countriesand territories around the world. -VNA
