Hanoi (VNA) - A festival featuring Hanoi’s agricultural productsand craft villages is expected to take place from December 14-17 in the capitalcity.
The festival, the first of its kind held in Hanoi, aims to promote theagricultural sector and support connection between production and consumption,seek opportunities to expand cooperation in agriculture and technology transferbetween individuals, organisations, businesses in and outside the country,serving agricultural production and rural development.
The event is expected to feature over 300 booths showcasing products in Hanoi’sagriculture and rural development, especially those joining the one commune oneproduct (OCOP) programme.
The festival will include areas for displaying Hanoi’s flowers and bonsaitrees, and handicraft villages’ products.
Besides, 28 provinces and cities across the country are expected to join thefestival.
The festival will be organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and RuralDevelopment in collaboration with the Hanoi People’s Committee./.
Many workers in craft villages in the northern mountainous province of Vinh Phuc have enjoy continuous rises in their income, thanks to the province’s support policy for local small industry and handicraft in rural areas.
The administration of Hanoi recently designated two craft villages in Phu Xuyen district as tourist destinations, a move aimed to develop not only local crafts but also tourism.
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
The festival highlighted the contributions and robust development of Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past century while promoting press products and showcasing the creativity of Vietnamese journalists.
The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government.
