Festival celebrating VN-RoK relations held in Gyeonggi
A festival entitled “We are together” was held in the Seongnam city in Gyeonggi province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on April 29 to herald the 25th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the RoK.

Seoul (VNA) ⛎– A festival entitled “We are together” was held in the Seongnamcity in Gyeonggi province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on April 29 to heraldthe 25th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the RoK.
VietnameseAmbassador to the RoK Nguyen Vu Tu attended the event, which drew hundreds ofVietnamese students and workers, mostly in Gyeonggi province. Severaltraditional games of Vietnam and the RoK were held, along with a photoexhibition on daily activities of local people. Participants enjoyed performancesof artists from Vietnam and the RoK, as well as Vietnamese students in thelocality. About30,000 out of 150,000 Vietnamese in the RoK currently live in Gyeonggi, theprovince surrounding the capital city of Seoul.-VNA
A concert to mark the 25th anniversary of Vietnam – the Republic of Korea (RoK) diplomatic relations will take place on April 1 at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi.
Famous dance drama “800 nam hen uoc” (Promise of 800 years) were staged by artists of Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) in Seoul’s Gangdong district, on March 31, as part of activities to mark the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between two countries.
The Vietnamese Students’ Association in the Republic of Korea (VSAK) held its sixth congress in Seoul on April 2 to review its work from 2015-2017 and plan for the next three years.
According to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRC), this year’s campaign provided long-term aid for 3,785 individuals and organisations. Support included houses, clean water systems, school meal facilities, books, and livelihood assistance, with a total value of more than 118 billion VND.
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
The festival highlighted the contributions and robust development of Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past century while promoting press products and showcasing the creativity of Vietnamese journalists.
The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government. It has fulfilled five specific objectives and five five-year goals, and met nine out of 12 indicators related to addressing basic social service shortages.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach. He noted that the early completion reflects the strong commitment of local authorities, the business community, philanthropists, and residents in improving housing conditions for disadvantaged groups.
