FDI businesses win Golden Dragon Awards

As many as 73 foreign-invested businesses and 100 domestic companies were honoured with the 12 th Golden Dragon Awards and the 9 th Vietnamese Trademark Awards, respectively, in Hanoi on March 16.

FDI businesses that won the Golden Dragon Awards thisyear operate in the fields of finance-banking, insurance, cementproduction and car manufacturing. Among the winners are Chinfon CementCorporation, Ford Vietnam Co., Ltd and Lavie Co., Ltd.

In 2012, foreign investors invested more than 13 billion USD inVietnam, of which 10.5 billion USD was disbursed. The FDI sectorrecorded an export turnover of over 73 billion USD last year, accountingfor 66 percent of the country’s total exports.

Meanwhile, 100 local businesses were recognised for their efforts inovercoming a series of difficulties in 2012. Typical businesses includeNgo Gia Tu One-member Co. , Ltd, Viet Tien Garment Joint StockCorporation, and Vincom Joint Stock Company.

Theawards ceremony, themed “Crossing Waves”, was jointly held by theVietnam Economic Times in coordination with Vietnam Television.-VNA
