Fairs give a boost to agro-production, consumption

The 2014 International Agriculture Fair kicked off on December 10 in the Mekong delta city of Can Tho, welcoming more than 300 local and foreign businesses to display their wares in 450 pavilions.
The 2014 International Agriculture Fair kicked off on December 10 in theMekong delta city of Can Tho, welcoming more than 300 local and foreignbusinesses to display their wares in 450 pavilions.

Theexhibitors showcase high quality agricultural products, and even latesttechnological innovations in agriculture, particularly the foodprocessing industry.

A series of seminars are planned forissues related to agricultural productivity and post harvesttechnologies, aimed at creating favourable conditions for scientists andfarmers to share knowledge and experience.

The event offersopportunities for farmers and enterprises to introduce products, seekpartners, expand trade promotion and bolster the export ofagro-fisheries products.

On the same day, the Vietnameseproducts – Da Nang 2014 EXPO opened in the central city of Da Nang withthe aim of promoting the consumption of Vietnamese products.

The expo, organised by the municipal Department of Industry and Trade,has drawn the participation of 190 businesses nationwide to showcasetheir products at 415 booths.

The fair is held in response to the “Vietnamese using Vietnamese products” campaign.

During the fair, which runs until May 19, many additional activitieswill allow businesses to promote new products and seek cooperationopportunities.-VNA
