Expos introduce electrical equipment, energy-saving products

Nearly 200 domestic and foreign businesses have been showcasing their products at the 11th International Exhibition of Electrical Technology and Equipment (Vietnam ETE 2018) and the 8th International Exhibition of Energy Saving and Green Power Products and Technologies (Enertec Expo 2018) which both opened in Ho Chi Minh City on July 18.

HCM City (VNA) – Nearly200 domestic and foreign businesses have been showcasing their products at the11th International Exhibition of Electrical Technology and Equipment (VietnamETE 2018) and the 8th International Exhibition of Energy Saving and Green PowerProducts and Technologies (Enertec Expo 2018) which both opened in Ho Chi MinhCity on July 18.

In his opening remarks, DeputyMinister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said under the industrialrestructuring plan for 2018-2020 with a vision towards 2025, Vietnam will promotethe development of mechanical products and prioritise key sectors such asindustrial and electrical equipment.

The country also aims to attract investmentin new, clean, renewable energy to ensure national energy security, achieve greengrowth-related goals, reduce the effects of climate change, and boost thedevelopment of other industrial sectors, he said.

The plan has created a foundationfor the development of electrical technology and green energy, he said,pointing to the potential of the power and electrical technology sector.

Nguyen Phuong Dong, DeputyDirector of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, highlightedthe increasing demand for energy needed to serve production, business, anddaily activities of local residents, citing the city’s power output in the firstsix months of this year at 12.32 billion KWh, up 6.25 percent year-on-year.

With 300 booths, Vietnam ETE 2018and Enertec Expo 2018 have been putting on display a variety of energy savingand green energy products, helping consumers select suitable eco-friendly solutions,he said.
