Hanoi (VNA) - Experts shared experiencein coordination between enterprises and universities to design training coursesduring a workshop held in Hanoi on May 14.

At the “Preparing a Future Technology Workforce”workshop held by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and theAustralian Embassy, experts also discussed students’ preparations to jointhe information technology workforce.

Speaking at the debate, Nguyen Thi Kim Phung, Directorof the Higher Education Department under the MOET, said the fourth IndustrialRevolution has created a lot of opportunities but also challenges fordifferent countries, including Vietnam.

Graduates should have high professionalqualifications and working skills, but also research skills topromote their creativity and innovation. To achieve this, trainingcourses at higher education institutions needed innovation in orderto improve the quality of students and researchers, she said.

Professor Duncan Bentley, Deputy Vice-Chancellorof the Australian Swinburne University, said the university connected students,researchers and enterprises to co-resolve complicated problems, show newsolutions and forecast different situations for the future.

The university supplied background forresearch with the participation of enterprises. It coordinatedservice users, students and researchers to join the first stage of aproduction to test potential, he said.

At present, Vietnam has 235 universities, ofwhich 153 train information technology. About 50,000 information technologystudents graduated per year, according to the MOET.-VNA
