Exhibition honouring General Vo Nguyen Giap kicks off in Quang Binh
A poetry and photographic exhibition on late General Vo Nguyen Giap opened on February 1 in the central province of Quang Binh as part of activities to celebrate the 93rd founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930-2023).

Quang Binh (VNA) - A poetry and photographic exhibition on late General Vo Nguyen Giap opened on February 1 in the central province of Quang Binh as part of activities to celebrate the 93rd founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930-2023).
The exhibition entitled "Theo Dau chan Dai tuong Vo Nguyen Giap" (In the Footsteps of General Vo Nguyen Giap) features 110 poems by teacher-poetess- journalist Nguyen Thi My Dung. She had the unique opportunity to meet and write many poems about the talented general over a span of more than 20 years.
The poems introduce to the public stories and images on the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu and the life and career of the general.
The exhibition consists of three themes.
♛ The first theme entitled “The Way to the Historic Victory of Dien Bien Phu” introduces the scenes of the Dien Bien Phu military campaign under the command of Gen. Giap.
The second features the simple and everyday moments of the legendary general. Meanwhile, the third affirms the sentiments of the people for Gen. Giap and pays tribute to his great contributions to national liberation and reunification.
🍬 Jointly organised by the Quang Binh Museum and the Vietnam Women's Museum, the exhibition will run until February 20./.
An exhibition on the late General Vo Nguyen Giap opened in Hanoi on August 20 on the occasion of his 110th birth anniversary (August 25) to honour the legendary general’s great contributions to the national liberation cause.
“Theo dau chan Dai tuong" (In the footsteps of the General), a poetry-photographic exhibition recreating the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu and on General Vo Nguyen Giap opened in the Museum of Dien Bien Phu Victory in Dien Bien province on March 13.
The Dien Bien Phu Victory on May 7, 1954 is the result of many factors, with the decisive one being the Party’s comprehensive resistance policy that covers all aspects of military, politics, economy, trade, culture, education and diplomacy, creating a synergy strength to defeat the enemy and make a victory that “resounded throughout the five continents and was world-shaking”.
The People’s Committee of central Quang Binh province held a gathering on July 25 with the young overseas Vietnamese (OVs) taking part in the Vietnam Summer Camp 2022.
A bilingual book of poems on legendary General Vo Nguyen Giap (1911 – 2013) made debut in Hanoi on August 23 on the occasion of the general’s 111st birthday (August 25, 1911 – 2022).

Vietnam’s cinematic appeal lies in its diverse settings, from terraced mountains and limestone karsts to bustling markets and ancient towns. Its mix of ethnic vibes, buzzing street life, and old traditions gives directors a goldmine for storytelling.
The Vietnamese team will gather on June 26 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, where they will train until July 14 before departing for Indonesia for the ASEAN U23 Championship 2025, which runs from July 15 to 29. Vietnam will face Laos on July 19 and Cambodia on July 22 in the group stage.
The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.
Eight teams will join the tournament, divided into two groups. Group A features Vietnam, the Philippines, Sichuan Club (China), and Australia, while Group B consists of Vietnam U21, Korabelka Club (Russia), Taiwan (China), and U21 Thailand.

For the first time, Vietnamese audiences will have the opportunity to experience the ballet masterpiece "Don Quixote" in its original version by renowned choreographer Marius Petipa.
The contest carried deep meaning as it was the first time the life of Vietnamese women abroad had been highlighted as the central theme, said poet and writer Nguyen Quang Thieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers’ Association.
The event formed part of Vietnam’s ongoing campaign to seek UNESCO World Heritage status for the complex at the 47th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, scheduled to take place in Paris in July.
Creative cultural festivals are fast emerging as a new catalyst for tourism development in Vietnam, as localities increasingly invest in these vibrant events on a more systematic and larger scale.
This marks the first time Vietnam has hosted a continental-level Muay event which will feature competitions across 28 weight categories in combat and eight performance categories.
Coming to the Vietnamese booth, visitors had the chance to take part in a bamboo dance, a workshop on painting woven bamboo or rattan, or quizzes about Vietnam.
