Phu Yen (VNA) – An exhibition aimed to raise people’s awarenessof the importance of reducing the use of plastic products opened in Tuy Hoacity in the central province of Phu Yen on August 19.
Hosted by the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination withthe provincial People’s Committee, the exhibition featured 300 photos, twomodels, documents and movies about plastic pollution.

It highlighted the real situation of plastic waste pollution; origin of plastic waste and causes of pollution; consequences and solutions to reduce plasticwaste pollution.
The event also introduced a number of organisations andindividuals that have made positive contributions to preventing and controllingplastic waste pollution, thus conveying a message on the need to change fromthe smallest things to move towards the green, clean and plastic waste-free environment.
As the amount of plastic waste from Vietnamese is rising quickly, many projects are being implemented in collaboration with international organisations to reduce plastic waste.
The Deposit Return System is seen as a potential instrument for effectively advancing Vietnam’s vision of a circular economy, as outlined in Article 142 of the 2020 Law on Environmental Protection.
