EVN SPC ensures power supply for islanders

The Southern Power Corporation of the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN SPC) has so far supplied electricity for nearly 30,500 households in the island districts of Phu Quy, Con Dao, Phu Quoc and Kien Hai.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Southern Power Corpora⛎tion of the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN SPC) has so far supplied electricity for nearly 30,500 households in the island districts of Phu Quy, Con Dao, Phu Quoc and Kien Hai.

The EVN SPC has invested in more than 75 kilometers of 22-110kV underground cables and over 305 kilometers of 22-110kV power lines.
It has also poured money into building a nearly 255km low voltage power line along with 558 transformer stations with a total capacity of some 105,000 kVA. In 2016, the company will carry out more projects to generate power for island communes in the southern province of Kien Giang such as Lai Son in Kien Hai district and Hon Nghe in Kien Luong district.
The projects are expected to be completed in April 2016. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has approved a feasible study for a project on grid investment for ashore island communes in Kien Giang province.-VNA
