EVN adds 780 MW of electricity on national grid

Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) Group expects to add an additional 780 MW of electricity on the national power grid by the end of April.
Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) Group expects to add an additional 780 MWof electricity on the national power grid by the end of April. The new amount will come from the second turbine of Son La hydropowerplant (400 MW), the first turbine of An Khe- Ka Nac hydropower plant(80 MW), and the expanded Uong Bi thermal power plant No. 2 (300 MW).
In the first three months of the year, EVN put into commissionthree turbines with a total designed capacity of 515 MW of electricity,including the second turbine of Song Tranh hydropower plant No.2, thefirst turbine of Dong Nai hydropower plant No. 3, and Uong Bi thermalpower plant 2. In the reviewed period, the group supplied themarket with nearly 24.2 billion kWh of electricity, a 10.6 percent riseover the same time last year, with 9.6 billion kWh generated by itsplants and 14.5 billion kWh from other internal and external sources./.
