Hanoi (VNA) - The 9th European Day ofLanguages will take place at the Goethe Institute in Hanoi from 13:00 to 17:00 on October 19.
The eventwill offer people a chance to experience a multilingual environment andenjoy a colourful day full of activities and prizes.
TheEuropean Day of Languages is run by the Council of Europe and organisedannually by the European Union National Institutes of Culture (EUNIC).
Thisyear’s participants are the British Council as well as the Embassies ofPortugal, Spain, Switzerland, France, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, DelegationWallonie-Bruxelles, and the Goethe-Institute.
Participatingrepresentatives will present their languages and countries. Visitors will havethe opportunity to learn their first words in Czech, English, French, German,Italian, Polish and Spanish and see the linguistic and cultural diversity ofEurope.
Coming tothe event, people young and old can learn something about the variety ofEuropean languages and culture.
Shortclasses of 30 minutes will be offered in these languages. The participants canlearn some basic vocabulary and communication strategies in all theselanguages.
‘Speak-dating’is offered as well; an activity allowing everyone to come into first contactwith each of these different languages in five minutes of fun learning./.
