EU-Singapore trade deal to take effect on November 21
A trade deal between the European Union (EU) and Singapore will go into effect on November 21, President of the European Commission (EC) Jean-Claude Juncker has announced.

In a statement, Junckerhailed the deal as a building block towards a closer relationship betweenEurope and Singapore which is located in one of the most dynamic regions in theworld.
Singaporean Trade MinisterS. Iswaran was quoted by Bloomberg as saying that the deal's entry into force "isa strong signal by two like-minded partners on the need to continue upholdingopen and rules-based trade".
