Vietnam regards Japan as a long-term, important and reliable strategic partner, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told his Japanese counterpart Kishida Fumio during their talks in Tokyo on November 24.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc arrived in Tokyo on October 22 to attend the enthronement ceremony of Japanese Emperor Naruhito at the invitation of the Japanese Government.

Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko met with Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on Friday (Mar. 3), the third day of their state visit to Vietnam.

President Tran Dai Quang and his spouse chaired a welcome ceremony in Hanoi on March 1 for Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko who arrived in Vietnam on February 28 for their state visit.
