Eighteen Vietnamese evacuated from Iran amidst conflict with Israel

Hanoi (VNA) - Eighteen Vietnamese citizens living and working in Iran have been evacuated to a third country amidst the ongoing escalation of the conflict between Israel and Iran, Vietnamese Ambassador to Iran Nguyen Luong Ngoc said on June 17 afternoon (local time).

According to the diplomat, currently, 20 Vietnamese citizens remain in Iran, including embassy staff and personnel. All are safe, mentally stable, and in regular contact with the embassy.

The Vietnamese community in Iran consists of 38 people, including embassy staff, long-term residents, and short-term visitors. The embassy regularly advises them to remain vigilant, avoid crowded places, strictly follow local security and safety regulations, and maintain close contact with the embassy. In case of emergency assistance, they can contact the embassy via the hotlines: +98 933 965 8252 or +98 991 205 7570.

Tensions between Israe✤l and Iran have entered the fifth day and continue to escalate dangerously following Israel’s preemptive strikes on targets in Tehran and several Iranian provinces in the early hours of June 13. Many co🎐untries are now working on evacuation plans for their citizens from both Iran and Israel./.
