E-lecture design contest – a success

The second e-lecture design contest has successfully concluded, receiving nearly 8,500 entries from 40 cities and provinces, a ten-fold increase compared to the first event.
The second e-lecture design contest has successfully concluded,receiving nearly 8,500 entries from 40 cities and provinces, a ten-foldincrease compared to the first event.

A ceremonywas held in Hanoi on August 24 to present 16 first prizes, 29 secondprizes, and other third and consolation prizes. 28 units with largenumber and high quality lectures were also honoured at the event.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Vinh Hien saidinformation technology has been applied effectively at schools in urbanareas, where IT infrastructure is developed. However, most entries inthe contest have failed to use IT to stimulate students’ self-study.

Since its debut in 2009, the biennial contest aims at promoting theadoption of IT in improving teaching methods, as well as building openeducation resources serving life-long learning and distance learning.

It also aims to facilitate the sharing of experienceand coordination among the educators’ community, heading to the e-schoolmodel in Vietnam.

The next contest for2013-2015 will be themed “Vietnam’s geography collection”. Entriescan be sent to //thi-baigiang.moet.gov.vn.-VNA
