DPRK state media airs documentary on Trump-Kim summit

The Korean Central Television of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) on March 6 aired a documentary on the recent second summit between DPRK leader Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump, reaffirming the DPRK’s willingness to continue negotiations despite the talks’ breakdown without a deal.

Seoul (VNA) – TheKorean Central Television of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK)on March 6 aired a documentary on the recent second summit between DPRK leaderKim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump, reaffirming the DPRK’s willingnessto continue negotiations despite the talks’ breakdown without a deal.  

The 75-minute documentarysaid the two countries can write a new history and future if they engage innegotiations with a fair proposal, appropriate attitude and will to solve theproblem.

The film also saidPresident Trump reaffirmed his willingness to meet with DPRK leader Kim more oftenin order to bring about fruits in improving the DPRK-US relations.

Yet, it made no mention of denuclearization, unlikean earlier report from the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on the summitwhich said the two sides agreed to keep in close touch with each other for thedenuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

During theexpanded meeting, it was stressed that the efforts and measures made by the twosides to reduce tensions and build peace on the peninsula have a great meaningin fundamentally shifting the decades-long relationship of mistrust and hostilitybetween the two countries, the film said.

The filmpresented Kim's 11-day trip in chronological order, from his departure from thePyongyang train station to the summit with Trump, an official visit to Vietnamand his return home.

It alsoincluded footage of the moment the two leaders wrapped up their meeting, whenTrump patted Kim on the arm while the DPRK leader smiled. Trump then extendedhis hand to DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho and Kim's top aide, Kim Yong-chol.

The second meeting between Trump and Kim took place in the Vietnamese capitalcity of Hanoi on February 27 and 28.-VNA
