Quang Ninh (VNA) – A high ranking delegation fromthe Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea(DPRK) toured the World Heritage site Ha Long Bay in the northern province ofQuang Ninh on February 27.
The delegation was led by Ri Su Yong, Politburo member, ViceChairman of the WPK Central Committee and head of the WPK International AffairsDepartment; Kim Pyong Hae, Politburo member, Vice Chairman of the WPK CentralCommittee and head of the WPK Cadres' Affairs Department; and O Su Yong,Politburo member, Vice Chairman of the WPK Central Committee, and head of theWPK Economic Affairs Department.
The tour was part of the WPK delegation’s sidelinesactivities during their trip to Vietnam for the second DPRK – US Summit inHanoi and the official friendship visit to Vietnam by Chairman of the WPK and theState Affairs Commission Kim Jong-un.
In Quang Ninh, the delegation was welcomed by Secretary ofthe provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Doc and Chairman of the provincialPeople’s Committee Nguyen Duc Long.
At the reception, Doc introduced the province’s potentialand strengths to the delegation, recalling the visit to Ha Long Bay made by thenWPK Chairman Kim Il-sung in November 1964.
