Ninh Binh (VNA)-The Dinh Bo Linh Foundation in the northern province of Ninh Binh, withPresident Tran Dai Quang as Honorary Chairman, has helped thousands of youngtalents in disadvantaged circumstancesrealise their dreams not only in academic fields but also in sports.
Every September, the foundation holdsceremonies to present awards to Ninh Binh’s students and young athletes withoutstanding performance on the occasion of the start of the new academic year.
As Honorary Chairman of thefoundation, President Tran Dai Quang has attended many ceremonies to personallypresent awards to the students and athletes.
Since its founding in 2012, thefoundation has raised nearly 31 billion VND (1.33 million USD) through donationsof its founders, agencies, companies, donors, organisations and individualsboth in and outside the country. The money was deposited in the bank, and theinterest is used to pay for the awards.
So far, the Dinh Bo Linhfoundation has presented awards worth more than 5 billion VND (nearly 215,000USD) to 1,200 students and athletes.
Besides presenting awards toexcellent students and young sport talents of the province, the foundation alsogives financial support to local study encouragement funds, which came to 4 billionVND by now.
In the time ahead, the Dinh BoLinh foundation will continue to work to raise more donations for itsactivities and design plans to optimize the funding, thus encouraging and assistinglocal students and young athletes to strive to realise their dreams andcontribute to society.
The Luong Van Tuy senior highschool for the gifted in Ninh Binh city has always led other schools in theprovince in the number of students receiving awards of the Dinh Bo Linhfoundation. Last year, 115 students from the school won the awards.
According to the school’s headteacher Dinh Van Kham, so far more than 500 students of the school have won theDinh Bo Linh awards.
The Dinh Bo Linh foundation hasaffirmed the significance and deep humanity of its activities, helping encouragelocal talents to make greater efforts and contribute more to the development oftheir home province and the country.-VNA
The Party organisation, soldiers, and people of Ninh Binh have always been proud of late President Tran Dai Quang, an exemplary figure from the northern province, said Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh.
Before becoming the President in April 2016, General Tran Dai Quang had worked in the public security sector for years and served as Minister of Public Security from 2011 to 2016.
