Digital Vietnamese knowledge system launched

All Vietnamese citizens now can participate in spreading knowledge conveniently and effectively thanks to the “Digital Vietnamese knowledge system” project which was launched in Hanoi on January 1 morning.

 Hanoi (VNA) – All Vietnamese citizens now can participate in spreadingknowledge conveniently and effectively thanks to the “Digital Vietnameseknowledge system” project which was launched in Hanoi on January 1 morning.

Under the project, which was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision677/QD-TTg on May 18, 2017, a website at //itrithuc.vn/ has been set up, promising a comprehensiveecological system for all, especially Vietnamese youths, to developcutting-edge technologies on the basis of big data, Internet of Things (IoT)platforms and artificial intelligence.

In the context of the fourth industrial revolution’s strong impacts on all fields,the project hopes to create huge opportunities for innovative start-ups inVietnam.

The system comprises of an open database providing information and data made publicby ministries, agencies, localities, businesses, organisations and individuals;an archive collecting the world’s knowledge translated into Vietnamese and Vietnameseknowledge that has been systematized for easy study and search at differentlevels.

Users can put up questions in a Question-and-Answer column and receive answersfrom many sources as well as interact with different social networks andforums. In addition, the system offers an application store developed bybusinesses and individuals. Users can also dial the free number 1001 on Viettel,Mobiphone and Vinaphone networks to get answers to their questions.

As one of the first volunteer participants in the project, military-run groupViettel is building technological infrastructure and contributing knowledge to thesystem.

At the launching ceremony, representatives of ministries, Government agencies,cities, provinces, education establishments, research institutes, telecomfirms, start-ups, social networks, forums and banks, and individuals committedto contributing to the project.

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee has also launched acampaign encouraging students to join hands in the project, with nearly 2.5million questions sent to the system within more than one week. -VNA
