Hanoi (VNA) - In response to the theme "Youths pioneer in digital transformation" of the Youth Month launched by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) in the south central province of Binh Thuan on February 26, thousands of activities and initiatives have been actively carried out by youth union members and officials from the central to local levels, bringing benefits to millions of people.

Fully tapping advanced technology

From the onset of the Youth Month, the HCYU Central Committee has applied technology to organise a conference raising awareness of Resolution adopted by the 12th National Congress of the HCYU for the 2022-2027 tenure. It was held under in-person and online formats, with nearly 11,000 locations and about 400,000 officials and youth union members taking part. This online event was the largest of its kind ever held by the HCYU Central Committee.

The municipal and provincial HCYU chapters have also carried out a series of digital transformation activities in multiple fields. So far, 347 digital maps, documents, artifacts and information about historical landmarks and public services have been built and digitalised with a total budget of 3.8 billion VND (165,000 USD).

A number of youth-led projects aim to spread digital transformation activities to the community. Notably, the Ha Tinh provincial HCYU chapter launched the model "Digital Library - Smart Reading” and the "Digital Legal Library” project, established nearly 300 community digital technology teams, initiated the "RUN AND GET GIFTS" online running challenge and built a project on digitisation of cashless payment services at business establishments.

🦋 In collaboration with Viettel Nghe An, the Nghe An provincial HCYU chapter set up voluntary youth teams and points to instruct people how to register and use Viettel Money e-wallets at local markets, shopping outlets and high-density commercial zones throughout the province.

The Dien Bien provincial HCYU chapter debuted the "Digital Transformation in Tourism - Cultural Heritage Promotion" project at the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum, Martyrs' Shrine at Dien Bien Phu battlefield, and several other historical sites in the area.

The Tay Ninh provincial HCYU chapter launched the Tani-location app, which digitalises historical landmarks with geographical guidance and location information. They also introduced the Tay Ninh smart app, linked to the mini app on Zalo to popularise Tay Ninh's OCOP products through online platforms. Meanwhile, the Bac Lieu provincial HCYU launched the "Market 4.0 - Cashless Payments" week.

Impressive figures

Statistics from the HCYU Central Committee showed that in just the first two weeks of the Youth Month from February 26 to March 10, youth unions at all levels achieved impressive figures.

Specifically, nearly 1.9 million youth union officials and members learned about the Resolution of the HCYU’s 12th National Congress. Over 1.26 million youth union members and young volunteers took part in voluntary activities held by the HCYU chapters and other associations during the Youth Month.

Up to 5,251 digital transformation activities were organised by the HCYU and other associations at the grassroots level, thus benefiting over 1.35 million people.

﷽ Nearly 8,300 youth-led works were built at a total cost of around 87 billion VND.

Roughly 35,000 scholarships worth some 20 billion VND were granted during the month.

As many as 143 international youth exchange activities attracted the participation of nearly 13,800 youth members. There were more than 4,500 activities aimed at improving foreign language proficiency, with over 149,000 children and young people taking part.

🌺 These impressive figures are the result of the most practical activities carried out by youth union officials and members at all levels to mark the 92nd anniversary of the HCYU (March 26)./.
