Malaysia's digital investment rose to 66.22 billion MYR (14.93 billion USD) in the first half of the year, surpassing 46.2 billion MYR of the whole of last year, a Malaysian official has said.

Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has expressed his confidence in the country’s ability to achieve the 70 billion RM (16 billion USD) digital investment target by 2025, in line with the digital economy blueprint.

The Southeast Asian internet economy has expanded by 39 percent this year to hit 100 billion USD for the first time, according to a recent report by Google, Temasek and new partner Bain & Company.
