Theyshared the view that the situation on both sides of the border isbasically stable, with local people strictly complying with regulations on the managementof the Vietnam-China land border, especially since both sides adopted COVID-19 preventionand control measures. Lastyear, the A Pa Chai border guard station sent 15 letters to China and received19 letters in accordance with their agreement on information exchange. The Chinese side transferred to the station one case involving one Vietnameseperson who illegally crossed the border into China. Vietnam also handed overtwo cases to the Chinese side with seven Chinese people who illegally crossed theborder into Vietnam. As the COVID-19pandemic still poses complicated risks, the two sides pledged to continue raising publicawareness of pandemic prevention and control, the sense of crime denunciation,especially illegal border crossing activities in order to prevent the pandemic fromspreading across the border, and proactively suggest the resumption of customsclearance at the A Pa Chai - Long Phu border crossing point. They also vowed toincrease patrol and coordination activities to maintain a borderline of peace,stability, and friendship./.
