Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam and Kazakhstan should bolster exchanges ofdelegations at all levels and hold political consultations to enhance theefficiency of bilateral cooperation, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister ofForeign Affairs Pham Binh Minh.
He made the statement while receiving Kazakhstan Ambassador to VietnamBeketzhan Zhumakhanove on September 28 in Hanoi to discuss measures promotingbilateral cooperation and activities to mark the 25th anniversary ofthe two nations’ diplomatic ties.
Expressing delight over recent developments in relations with Kazakhstan acrosspolitics, economy and trade, culture, tourism and security, Minh said thatvisits made by high-ranking leaders from both sides in the past years helpeddrive collaboration between the two nations.
He suggested the countries coordinate to organise NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi KimNgan’s official visit to the central Asian country. As the first visit by theVietnamese NA leader to Kazakhstan, it is significant to enhancing ties betweenthe two countries’ parliaments.
Both nations should support each other at the UN and other multilateral forums,especially with Kazakhstan currently a non-permanent member of the UN SecurityCouncil, Minh added.
He said that the Vietnam-Eurasian Economic Union free trade agreement hasbrought positive change in economic collaboration between the two nations.
It is necessary for the two sides to review the free trade deal and findmeasures to carry out the agreement effectively, Minh stressed.
On the occasion, Minh congratulated Kazakhstan on successfully holding Expo2017 Astana and lauded its support for Vietnam’s celebration of its NationalDay during the event.
He hoped to receive further coordination from Kazakhstan in trade activitiesand investment projects of Vietnamese businesses in the host nation.
For his part, the Kazakhstan diplomat called for support from ministries andbranches in Vietnam to deepen Vietnam-Kazakhstan relations, meeting theexpectations of the two governments and peoples.-VNA
