Deputy PM: VFF helps Government improve management quality

Hanoi (VNA) – Politburo member and DeputyPrime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue has lauded the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) forhelping the Government improve its management quality and people’s lives.

Hue made the statement while delivering a speech onsocio-economic performance and joint work between the Government and the VFF CentralCommittee during the closing session of the ninth VFF’s National Congress inHanoi on September 20.

He said the country’s achievements over the past more than threedecades are the result of great efforts by the entire Party, armed forces andpeople, including the VFF chapters at all levels.

The Deputy PM said the Government always asks ministries,agencies and all-level People’s Committees to provide all possible support forthe VFF to fulfill its assigned tasks.

The VFF has been instrumental in creating social consensuswithin the national great unity bloc, contributing to the accomplishment of thesocio-economic development goals as directed by the Party, the NationalAssembly and the Government, he said.

The official hailed the VFF Central Committee for workingclosely with the Government to fine-tune policies and mechanisms in ethnic andreligious fields, thus meeting legitimate aspirations and upholding the role ofethnic minority people, religious followers and overseas Vietnamese.

He said public feedback collected by the VFF have served asan important reference for the Government to improve transparency andeffectiveness of its directions.

Over the past five years, the Government has signed two jointresolutions, issued two decrees while its ministries and agencies havepromulgated five circulars guiding the implementation of policies andmechanisms regarding the front work, conducted 12 supervision programmes andseveral thematic supervision contents with the standing board of the VFFCentral Committee and its member units.

During its tenure, the VFF held 12 conferences to collectfeedback on draft laws submitted by ministries and agencies, as well as offeredopinions on hundreds of legal documents./.
