Deputy PM presents gifts to cancer patients, staff in Hospital K

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam visited and presented gifts to medical staff of Hospital K and poor cancer inpatients in Hanoi’s outlying district of Tan Trieu on February 13.

Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam visitedand presented gifts to medical staff of Hospital K and poor cancer inpatientsin Hanoi’s outlying district of Tan Trieu on February 13.

Together with leaders of the Supportive Fund for CancerPatients – Bright Future, Deputy PM Dam presented 100 gifts to poor patients,each including 1 million VND in cash.

Talking with leaders of the hospital, Dam wished that thehospital will further improve its service quality by adopting new technologyand seeking suitable management model.

Director of the hospital Nguyen Van Thuan said with threefacilities, Hospital K now has 1,800 beds, including 1,500 for inpatients and300 for outpatients, and nearly 1,300 officials and  staff members.

Last year, the hospital offered check-ups and treatment to390,668 people and adopted technological advances in treatment, thereby raisingthe total number of surgeries to 21,126, up 37 percent from 2016 and 32 percentfrom the plan.

In 2018, it will strive to become a special-standardhospital, he said.-VNA
