Hanoi(VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung on December 1 greetedVice President of ExxonMobil Group Paul Greenwood, who is in Vietnam to evaluatethe development of the Ca Voi Xanh (Blue Whale) natural gas field in the centralregion.

Atthe meeting in Hanoi, Dung spoke highly of efforts made by the Ministry ofIndustry and Trade, the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) andExxonMobil Group during the implementation of the project.

Hestressed that the early production of gas from the field is significant as itwill help meet the increasing demand for production and commercial consumption.

Therefore,the Deputy PM suggested the group coordinate with the Ministry of Industry andTrade and PetroVietnam to promptly conclude negotiations on the remainingcontents, ensuring the pace of the project.

PaulGreenwood said his group is accelerating the negotiations with the Vietnameseside to reach the final consensus.

Henoted his wish that the Vietnamese Government will create favourable conditionsfor the early realisation of the agreements.
