Hanoi (VNA) - Deputy Defence Minister Sen. Lieut. Gen HoangXuan Chien hosted a reception in Hanoi on December 21 for Cambodia’s Ambassadorto Vietnam Chay Navuth and defence attaché Col. Rem Kan, who recently tookoffice in Vietnam.
Chien suggested that both sides regularly hold consultations, exchangeinformation, and educate their officials and soldiers about the traditionalfriendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two peoplesand armies.
He asked them to work closely with border protection and management forces,maintain joint patrols at sea between naval forces, boost cooperation inpersonnel training, and step up the search for and repatriation of the remainsof Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts who laid down their lives inCambodia.
Navuth, for his part, vowed to deepen partnerships, including defenceties, in a practical and effective manner for the benefit of the two peoples,contributing to realising the goals of the ASEAN Community and for the sake of peace,stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world./.
