Danish Film Festival to take place in Hanoi, HCM City

Award-winning movie Land of Mine will open the Danish Film Festival which will take place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from October 26-31.

- Award-winning movie Land of Mine will open the Danish FilmFestival which will take place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from October 26-31.

Directed by MartinZandvliet, the movie has won many awards, including the World CinemaAudience Award at American Film Institute; Best Danish Film at the Bodil Awardsby the Danish Film Critics Association and Best Cinematographer and BestCostume Design at the European Film Awards.

Itwas also nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards.

Land of Mine is one of six movies to be screenedduring the Danish Film Week. Others films include Across the Water; KeyHouse Mirror; A Hijacking; LongStory Short and The Hunt.

Exceptfor AHijacking and The Hunt, the restof films are being shown for the first time in Hanoi and HCM City.

The Hunt features famousactor Mads Mikkelsen. He starred in American block-buster KingArthur in 2004, as well as Casino Royale and RogueOne: A Star Wars Story.

Theopening ceremony will begin at 8pm in Hanoi’s National Film Centre at 87, LangHạ Street on October 26 and in HCM City’s Cinestar 135, Hai Ba Trung Street,District 1 on October 27.

Thefilms will be shown in their original language with English and Vietnamesesubtitles.

InHanoi, free tickets can be picked up at the Danish embassy, 7th floor, BIDVBuilding, 194 Tran Quang Khai Street and O Kia Hanoi Coffee, 639/39/39 HoangHoa Tham or Art Space, 360 La Thanh Street.

InHCM City, people can get tickets at Cinestar or online at www.cinestar.com.vn or www.123phim.vn from October 20./.

⭕ Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee
