Dak Lak, Laos’ Attapeu province sign cooperation deal

Dak Lak (VNA) 🎀– Authorities of the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak and the Lao province of Attapeu on March 11 signed a cooperation agreement covering education-training, agriculture, healthcare, culture, sports and tourism, as part of the ongoing 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival.

Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak provincial People's Committee Truong Cong Thai highlighted frequent exchanges in the recent past, noting Dak Lak’s support for three Attapeu students with scholarships to study at Tay Nguyen University. He urged both provinces to realise agreements effectively with the highest determination to achieve meaningful and practical outcomes, contributing to strengthening the Vietnam - Laos great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation, particularly between Dak Lak and Attapeu. Attapeu’s Vice Governor Thanouxay Banxalith praised Dak Lak’s socio-economic achievements, especially the global recognition of Buon Ma Thuot coffee as a premium brand that has positioned Vietnam among the world’s top coffee exporters.
Attending the festival provided Attapeu with invaluable lessons and experiences, he said, wishing that both sides would continue with the sharing of lessons about market development, production mechanisms, especially coffee processing and export. In the afternoon the same day, the provincial People’s Committee hosted a reception for 27 international delegations attending the festival.

Vice Chairman Thai expressed his hope for continued support from embassies, consulates and dignitaries from neighbouring countries, and international guests to promote Dak Lak’s unique blend of traditional and modern culture, the rich and refined flavours of its Buon Ma Thuot coffee, and its vast development potential. By sharing these values with global partners and friends, Dak Lak aims to foster stronger international cooperation and create mutually beneficial opportunities for economic growth, he said. The guests marveled at the coffee production journey, captivated by the stories shared by farmers, producers and traders. Recognising Dak Lak's immense potential in the global coffee industry, they eagerly anticipated expanding partnerships and cooperation with the province./.
