Daily life in Vietnam told through lens of Swiss photographer

More than 300 photos by Swiss photographer McFreddy, capturing the daily life in Vietnam from 2005 – 2017, are on display at Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts until May 15.

HCM City (VNA) – More than 300 photos by Swissphotographer McFreddy, capturing the daily life in Vietnam from 2005 – 2017,are on display at Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts until May 15.

The exhibition “Daily life in Vietnam 2005 – 2017” wasopened by the Consulate General of Switzerland in HCM City on May 4. Admission is free.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Swiss Consul in HCMCity Othmar Hardegger said the photos were taken during McFreddy’s journeyexploring the Mekong Delta and HCM City over the last 12 years.

Each photo tells an interesting story about Vietnamesepeople to remind the audience of how life can be seen from everyday ordinarythings. With passion and experience, McFreddy has captured beautiful moments ofthe daily life of people living in big cities and countryside, particularlyrural children.

McFreddy used to be a farmer with a strong passion forphotography at a young age, said Consul Othmar Hardegger. All his worksdisplayed at the event depict hardworking people in Vietnam, for example,people in Ben Tre making coconut products or traditional pottery artisans inVinh Long, he added.-VNA

✅ Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.

The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
