Da Nang to host international IT events in October

A string of important IT events will be held in the central coastal city of Da Nang from October 21-24, helping promote cooperation among Vietnamese and foreign IT firms, the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) said on October 16.

Hanoi (VNA) – A string of important IT events will be held in thecentral coastal city of Da Nang from October 21-24, helping promote cooperationamong Vietnamese and foreign IT firms, the Vietnam Software and IT ServicesAssociation (VINASA) said on October 16.

According to VINASA, the third Smart City Summit and the 12th JapanICT Day are expected to contribute to accelerating construction of a smart cityin the locality.

The Smart City Summit will draw the participation of around 600 delegates,including 200 international participants and senior officials from theVietnamese Government and ministries, leaders of Vietnamese localities andcities in the region, and representatives from leading IT corporations all overthe world.

The annual event is organised to promote collaboration; share vision, strategyand experience in building smart cities; and outline rational measures to manageand develop smart urban areas based on new technology platforms like Internetof Things (IoT), Big Data and Artificial Intelligence.

Four thematic conferences will be held within the summit, namely smart cityoperation based on data analysis, digital governance and finance for smartcity, infrastructure and technology for smart city, and smart cityapplications.

Besides, a conference of cities’ leaders will be held by the organising boardin collaboration with the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organisation (WeGO)and Asia-Oceania Computing Industry Organisation (ASOCIO) in the framework ofthe summit.

Meanwhile, the Japan ICT Day will take place on October 22 under the theme of“Vietnam-Japan cooperation in promoting digital transformation”. Around 350domestic delegates and 100 others from Japan will join the event, which hasbeen annually held by VINASA and the Vietnam – Japan IT Cooperation Committee(VJC) since 2007.

Focus of the ICT Day will be Vietnam – Japan IT cooperation in the context ofnew technology trend, IT human resources development, and improvement insoftware outsourcing efficiency.

A wide range of promotion activities are scheduled on the sidelines of the twoIT events such as exhibition of IT solutions to smart city, meetings withleaders of cities in the region, and cultural exchange programmes./.
