Da Nang (VNS/VNA) - The central city of Da Nang has plans for a number of big infrastructure projects including moving the railway station, building bridge across the Han River and building tunnels through the airport, said the municipal people’s committee.

The project to relocate the Da Nang Railway Station and related works out of the city centre is considered one of the important projects for infrastructure, socio-economic and security development of the city.

However, currently investment resources for the railway industry are still limited, along with the Government's priority to focus on the expressway network, leading to prolonged time to relocate the railway station to a new place.

According to the Report No 223/BC-UBND, issued in the end of last month the Da Nang People's Committee has already selected a consulting unit, researched and compiled a plan to relocate the railway.

The municipal Party Committee approved the plan, in which all auxiliary works and railway agencies of the station will move to Kim Lien Station, the passengers’ part will move to Trung Nghia Lake area.

Currently, the city is asking for opinions from the Ministry of Transport and relevant agencies.

It is expected that by October this year, the detailed planning will be completed and by October next year, the feasibility study report will be completed.

Another major piece of engineering work is the bridge across the Han River connecting the Dong Da-Tran Phu street in Hai Chau district to the Van Don-Tran Hung Dao street in Son Tra District), also known as the Han River tunnel.

It is under the city’s planning for the period of 2021-30, vision to 2050, which was approved by the Prime Minister.

The Da Nang Department of Transport has worked with units to evaluate and approve investment preparation.

It is expected to complete the project’s pre-feasibility study report and submit to competent authorities for appraisal in the end of this year.

For the Da Nang Airport Tunnel project, the Da Nang People's Committee proposed to allocate capital this year to carry out investment preparation work as a basis for implementation.

In addition, the Hoa Lien-Tuy Loan Expressway project has a total length of 11.5km and investment of more than 2.1 billion VND (82.4 million USD). Of which, site clearance compensation is more than 951 billion VND (37.3 million USD).

Resettlement land will be ꦉfully completed next year./.
