Da Nang (VNA) - Uniform measures should be put in place in central DaNang city to recover from consequences of natural disasters and disease and promoteeconomic recovery, Chairman of the municipal People’s Council Nguyen Nho Trungsaid on December 7.
Addressing the opening session of the 16th meeting of the municipalPeople’s Council’s 9th tenure, Trung said the city has posted negativegrowth of 9.77 percent for the first time, while budget collections accountedfor only 70 percent of the target.
Public investment disbursement is still behind schedule, he said, laying stresson several concerns in the locality, including environmental pollution, watersecurity, and traffic congestion, among others.
He ordered attendees to identify effective measures to recover the economy andensure sustainably over the years to come.
Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang said it is necessaryto improve the business climate, sharpen the focus on infrastructuredevelopment, promote the disbursement of public investment, and attractinvestment from domestic and foreign corporations.
The municipal People’s Council should work to remove bottlenecks in the legalsystem to promote the implementation of real estate projects, he added.
Participants also provided solutions for effectively piloting the urbanadministration model and many other special mechanisms in the time to come. Preparationsfor the election of National Assembly deputies and members of all-levelPeople’s Councils for the 2021-2026 tenure were also on the agenda.
The meeting will take place until December 9, with participants considering dismissalfrom and election to key leadership positions in the municipal People’sCommittee./.
