Da Nang expands global reach with new direct flights to Kazakhstan and CIS

Da Nang (VNA) - Vietjet's flight VJ52, using an Airbus A330-300 from Almaty (Kazakhstan), landed at Da Nang International Airport on April 2, bringing nearly 300 international tourists to explore and experience the city's tourism services.

Tour operators will operate direct flights between Kazakhstan and Da Nang with a frequency of four flights per week from April to October 2025. Specifically, there will be two weekly flights from Almaty to Da Nang on Tuesdays and Fridays and two weekly flights from Astana to Da Nang on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

It is expected to attract visitors from this promising market to Da Nang and the central region of Vietnam.

𓆏 In recent times, the department has actively developed plans to cater to international visitors from CIS countries via direct flights. Efforts have focused on market research, promotional campaigns, and enhancing security measures to ensure safe and enjoyable experiences for travellers. The city has also prepared tailored tourism products and improved service quality to meet the needs of international tourists.

In the evening of the same day, Da Nang will welcome flight 8M-454 of Myanmar Airways International, departing from Yangon, carrying nearly 120 passengers to explore the coastal city.

The Yangon–Da Nang route, operated by Myanmar Airways International, runs twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays using an Embraer E190 aircraft. This new connection marks a milestone as Da Nang now has direct flights from eight out of 10 Southeast Asian nations, including Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, and Myanmar. It also increases the total number of scheduled international routes to Da Nang to 16.

𒈔 As of April 2, the Da Nang International Airport is handling an average of 52 international flights per day. With a strategic vision to diversify its international market, Da Nang’s tourism sector aims to further expand its global air network, connecting the city with more destinations worldwide./.
