Dien Bien (VNA) – Incumbent and former Party and State leaders paid respect and laid wreaths in commemoration of martyrs at the A1 National Martyrs Cemetery in the northwestern mountainous province of Dien Bien on May 6 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954-2024).

Due to work commitments, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is unable to attend the ceremony marking the 70th commemoration, thus sending a wreath to pay tribute to the fallen heroes.

Participating in the solemn event were also leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, members of the central steering committee for Vietnam’s major holidays and important historical events for 2023-2025, and representatives from ministries, departments, provinces, and cities.

Wreaths were 🅠laid and a minute of profound remembrance took place, reflecting the gratitude of the nation and its people towards those who fell fo𝐆r the independence and freedom of the fatherland./.
