Hanoi (VNA) - The Central Highlands province of Dak Lak will host acuisine contest for chefs from the region at Ko Tam Community CulturalEcological Tourism from March 13-16 in Buon Ma Thuot city.
The contest will be part of the 7th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival and willattract about 50-60 cooking teams from restaurants, hotels and cateringcompanies.
Each team will cook at least five main dishes served for 10 people. Thecontestants will be encouraged to cook with specialty ingredients whichrepresent regional tastes. The contestants will be required to prepare twoappetisers and desserts using coffee.
The contestants will not be allowed to use meat from wild animals and mustensure hygiene and food safety quality. The cuisine contest will aim to honourand promote traditional culture through the unique cuisines of ethnic groupsand localities. It will also serve the food and drink demand at the 7th Buon MaThuot Coffee Festival.
The organisers hope the contest will be a chance for the chefs to learn moreabout coffee and create new recipes.
The contest is also an opportunity for Dak Lak and others Central Highlandsprovinces to introduce and popularise the local cuisine, culture, tourism andhistorical relics.-VNA
