Cuba vows to facilitate Vietnam’s investment

The Cuban Government and relevant ministries and branches will work to remove difficulties and obstacles in order to create the most favourable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to increase investment and carry out projects in the country, a Cuban official has said.

Hanoi (VNA) - The Cuban Government and relevant ministries andbranches will work to remove difficulties and obstacles in order to create themost favourable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to increase investmentand carry out projects in the country, a Cuban official has said.

The statement was made by Cuban Deputy Minister of ForeignTrade and Investment Déborah Rivas Saavedra on November 5 while co-chairing avirtual meeting of the Vietnam - Cuba Investment Working Group with Vietnamese DeputyMinister of Construction Bui Hong Minh.

Déborah said that the Cuban government has issued manypreferential policies to attract foreign investment. With great cooperation potentialand advantages, she expressed her wish that Vietnamese enterpriseswill increase investment in such fields as industry, infrastructure ofindustrial parks, construction, transportation, agriculture, food processing,renewable energy and tourism.

Minh said despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in thepast two years, Vietnamese businesses have maintained investment projects inCuba.

In particular, in September, within the framework of theofficial visit to Cuba by Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, manyVietnamese companies signed cooperation agreements with Cuban partners in manyprojects in priority areas of Cuba.

However, during the implementation process of their projectsin Cuba, Vietnamese enterprises are also facing some difficulties related tolabour and salary policies. Therefore, they expect the Cuban side to considerand soon have suitable solutions, he added./.
