Havana (VNA)𒉰 – The Granma daily, the newspaper of the Communist Party of Cuba, recently published an article on great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh to the national liberation cause of Vietnam and the world, on the occasion of 55th anniversary of his testament (September 2, 1969-2024).

The article “Ho Chi Minh with an open heart” started with quotations from a poem by Cuban great poet Nicolas Guillen (1902-1989) about President Ho Chi Minh, describing the Vietnamese leader as a man with an open heart. According to Elizabeth Naranjo - author of the article, the world remembers President Ho Chi Minh as a great sage and an excellent politician. In his country, and in many other lands of the world, generations after generations recognise him as the man of thought and action who led Vietnam to national independence and unification.
The President laid the foundation of the Communist Party of Vietnam, based on Marxism-Leninism and the class struggle, with influences that are reflected today in the political, economic and social structure of his nation. The article said Ho Chi Minh promoted relations with other socialist countries and liberation movements around the world. In December 1960, Cuba became the first country in the Western Hemisphere to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam. It quoted the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, as saying that the Cuban people are willing to give the people of Vietnam not only their sugar but also their blood which is worth much more than sugar.
From Asia, President Ho Chi Minh said that Cuba and Vietnam are geographically antipodes, but there is a complete identification in moral terms. The article also cited a message posted on the social network X, on the occasion of the anniversary of Vietnam's National Day and the anniversary of the 55th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament by First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, which emphasised President Ho Chi Minh’s contributions to the construction of socialism and his legacy, together with Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, to the indestructible ties between Cuba and Vietnam. At the end of the article, the author wrote that President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings constitute an integral part of Vietnam's national identity. His influence is perceived in many aspects of the country's contemporary life, making it look - as he hopes- "a hundred times more beautiful."/.
