The Vietnam Railway Authority has proposed allocating medium-term capital for the 2026-2031 period to construct overpasses and underpasses, aiming to eliminate unauthorised rail crossings and reduce railway accidents.

The Ministry of Transport has submitted a report to the Government regarding the implementation of a plan to ensure order and safety in railway corridors, as stipulated in the Prime Minister's Decision No. 994/2014/QD-TTg on ensuring road and railway transportation safety.

Close to 200 trucks carrying goods were cleared to cross the border on January 10, after China’s Guangxi province officially resumed customs clearance at border gates and border crossings in its Dongxing city bordering Mong Cai city of Vietnam’s Quang Ninh province.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has ordered the two northern border provinces of Lang Son and Quang Ninh to re-open some auxiliary border gates and crossings, per guidance from the Prime Minister on border trade activities.
