Quang Tri (VNA) – Theconstruction of My Thuy Port started in the south-east economic zone of thecentral province of Quang Tri’s Hai Lang district on February 27.
The port will be built at a budget of 14.23trillion VND (608 million USD). Over 2 trillion VND of which came from theinvestor My Thuy International Port Joint Venture Company, while the remainderfrom other sources.
The 685-ha port will be home to 10 wharvescapable of receiving ships of up to 100,000 tonnes. It is expected tosignificantly contribute to freight transport and economic growth of Quang Triprovince.
During the first stage from 2018-25, fourwharves will be built with an investment of nearly 5 trillion VND. There willbe another three constructed at the same cost during the second stage from2026-31, and the remaining three worth more than 4.3 trillion VND in the thirdstage from 2032-36.
The port will mainly serve the province’ssouth-east economic zone and industrial zones, as well as cargo in transit fromLaos and the northeast region of Thailand on the East-West economic corridor./.
The central province of Quang Tri will carry out 30 large-scale projects with the total investment of about 100 trillion VND (4.31 billion USD) in 2019.
