Hanoi (VNA) – National AssemblyChairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on October 14 sent congratulatory messages tonewly-elected leaders of the Indonesian parliament.
She congratulated Speaker of the People’s ConsultativeAssembly Bambang Soesatyo, Speaker of the House of Representatives PuanMaharani, and Speaker of Regional Representative Council La Nyalla MahmudMattalitti.
Vietnam and Indonesia established diplomaticties in 1955. The two sides are working to achieve a bilateral trade target of10 billion USD in 2020./.
A delegation from Ho Chi Minh City led by Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan on August 21 started their visits to Singapore and Indonesia, aiming to deepen ties between Vietnam, HCM City and the two Southeast Asian countries.

During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
