Congratulations to Japanese PM on re-election as LDP President

Hanoi (VNA) – General Secretary of the Communist Party of VietnamCentral Committee Nguyen Phu Trong on September 21 sent a congratulatory messageto Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on his re-election as President of theruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
Prime Minister ShinzoAbe was re-elected as LDP President on September 20 for his third consecutiveterm.
Abe, 63, won 329 votes from Diet members and 224 from rank-and-file members for a total of553 out of 807 votes. His new term runs for three years, until September 2021.-VNA
The fine relationship between the House of Councillors of the National Diet of Japan and the Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) has helped develop the bilateral ties between the two nations, said Nguyen Van Giau, Chairman of the NA’s Committee for External Affairs.
