Congratulations extended to Lao People’s Revolutionary Party on 70th anniversary

The CPV Central Committee congratulated the LPRP on the enormous and comprehensive achievements, which also serve as a considerable source of support for the Vietnamese Party, State, and people.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) has sent a congratulatory message to the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) on the latter’s 70th founding anniversary (March 22, 1955–2025).

In the message, the CPV Central Committee noted that under the LPRP's clear-sighted leadership over the past seven decades, the Lao people have overcome countless difficulties and challenges, achieving great victories of historic significance in their struggle for national liberation as well as national construction and defence. The Lao People’s Democratic Republic has maintained political stability, strengthened national defence and security, recorded economic growth, ensured social order and safety, and continuously improved the living standards of its people while expanding international relations.

The LPRP's enormous and comprehensive achievements are significant to promoting the role and stature of the LPRP as well as the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in the region and the world, and also serve as a considerable source of support for the Vietnamese Party, State, and people.

The CPV Central Committee affirmed that the Party, State, and people of Vietnam always strongly and comprehensively support Laos’ reform efforts, and firmly believe that by upholding the traditions of previous generations and building on past achievements, under the LPRP's leadership, the Lao people will continue to obtain even greater successes in their reform process, achieve the goals set forth in the resolution of the LPRP's 11th National Congress and the ninth five-year socio-economic development plan, successfully organise the Party congresses at all levels in the run-up to the 12th National Congress of the LPRP in early 2026, and successfully build a peaceful, independent, democratic, unified and prosperous Laos following the goal of socialism.

The CPV Central Committee said that along with the important attainments made by the Parties, States and peoples of the two countries, the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, founded by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane, and President Souphanouvong and nurtured by generations of the countries' Party and State leaders as well as peoples, have now become a faithful and unique relationship in the world. This priceless common asset of the two nations have continued to be strengthened, developed in a practical and effective manner, and brought tangible benefits to both peoples.

On this occasion, the CPV Central Committee thanked the Lao Party, State, and people for their great, valuable, sincere, wholehearted, and effective support and assistance for Vietnam over the years. It vowed to exert utmost efforts to join hands with the Lao side to forever maintain and unceasingly foster the special solidarity between the two countries, elevating it to new heights for the sake of each country's people and also for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world at large.

“May the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, the two States and the peoples of Vietnam and Laos be forever green and everlasting,” said in the message.

On the occasion, CPV General Secretary To Lam also sent congratulatory flowers to LPRP General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, former LPRP President and President of Laos Khamtay Siphandone, and former LPRP General Secretaries and Presidents of Laos Choummaly Sayasone and Bounnhang Vorachit.

♕ Bui Thanh Son, member of the CPV Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, sent congratulations to Thongsavanh Phomvihane, member of the LPRP Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos, along withto Bounleua Phandanouvong, acting head of the LPRP Central Committee's Commission for External Relations./.
