The Indonesian Health Ministry on October 16 announced the establishment of the Indonesia Clinical Research Center (INACRC) to improve the national research system so as to push Indonesia as one of Southeast Asia's centres for clinical research.

The Ministry of Health in collaboration with the World Health Organisation organized a webinar on August 4 to consult experts on the evaluation of clinical research data and approval of vaccines against COVID-19 in emergency situations.
