Civil servants’ base salary to increase in July

The monthly basic salary for civil servants, public employees and those working in the armed forces will increase to 1.49 million VND (63.9 USD) from 1.39 million VND (59.6 USD) as of July 1, 2019.

Hanoi (VNA) - The monthl♈y basic salary for civil servants, public employees and thoseworking in the armed fo🔜rces will increase to 1.49 million VND (63.9 USD) from1.39 million VND (59.6 USD) as of July 1, 2019.


The rise isstipulated in Decree 38/2019/ND-CP recently issued by the Government.

The new basic salary will be applied for thoseworking in agencies, organisations and non-production units of the Party andthe State, State-funded political-social organisations and associations, alongwith the armed forces. 

The basic salary is used as the basis for calculatingsalary, allowances and other payments for the groups. It will also be used to calculateoperating and living allowances and other deductions and entitlements. 

Decree 38/2019/ND-CP will take effect on July 1,2019, replacinౠg Decree 72/2018/ND-CP dated May 15, 2018.-VNA
