HCM City (VNA) – The Christian Fellowship Church of Vietnam (CFCV)convened its 5th congress in Thoi Tam Mon commune, Hoc Mon district,Ho Chi Minh City on November 21.
The congress was attended by 500 delegates who are dignitaries and followersfrom 40 cities and provinces nationwide.
Deputy Head of the Government’s Committee for Religious Affairs Tran Tuan Hungappraised efforts made by the Church in charitable work, poverty alleviation,and national development.
He expressed his hope that CFCV dignities and followers will promote the soundachievements to develop the Church, making it a component of the national unitybloc.
The congress will run until November 23.
The CFCV was established in 1989 and received a certificate for operations fromthe Government’s Committee for Religious Affairs in 2007. The Church is thethird largest Protestant organisation in the country.-VNA
Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung has called on the Hanoi Evangelical Church (HEC) to join hands in environmental protection, thereby building a green and modern city.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach. He noted that the early completion reflects the strong commitment of local authorities, the business community, philanthropists, and residents in improving housing conditions for disadvantaged groups.
