Choir Festival to honour 1945 revolution

The Choir Festival 2015 will open next week to celebrate the 70th anniversary of August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).
The Choir Festival 2015 will open next week by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in cooperation with HCM City People's Committee, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2). The festival's theme, Nhung Bai Ca Dang Dang (Songs Dedicated to the Party), aims to highlight revolutionary music in praise of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh and national heroes.
Hundreds of professional and amateur performers from art troupes, cultural centres, universities and colleges in six districts have registered to join the event. Participants who want to perform can choose from mixed choir, male choir, female choir, chamber choir, children's and youth choir. The festival will take place at the city's Opera House at 7 Lam Son Square, District 1, on August 20.-VNA
