Vientiane (VNA) – Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Laos onNovember 13 for a visit to the Southeast Asian country as the two countries arebolstering traditional friendship.

This is the first State visit of a top leader of China to Laos since 2006.

During the visit, the Chinese leader is scheduled to meet with BounnhangVorachit, General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party CentralCommittee and President; Thongloun Sisoulith, Lao Prime Minister; and PanyYathotu, President of the Lao National Assembly.

Laos is the last stop of Xi’s first foreign trip after the 19th National Congressof the Communist Party of China last month.

Earlier, Xi attended the 25th Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Vietnam’s central city of Da Nang and paid a Statevisit to the country in Hanoi.-VNA
