Beijing (VNA) –
Chinese President Xi Jinping on May14 met with Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, who is in Beijing to attend theConference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations (CDAC).

Xi said China attaches importance to itsfriendship with the Cambodian royal family and will continue supportingCambodia to pursue development suited to its national conditions. China willalso work with the Southeast Asian country to push the bilateral comprehensivestrategic partnership to a new level, he said.

According to the Chinese leader, the two sidesshould implement the action plan for building a community of shared future formutual benefits.

For his part, Sihamoni said the Cambodian peoplewill stand side by side with the Chinese people.

Cambodia congratulates China on the remarkableachievements it has gained over the years, and highly evaluates the importantrole of Beijing in international affairs, he said.

The King added that Cambodia supports China’sBelt and Road initiative.-VNA
